John Holcroft, on the left, is a software developer and usability designer. He has written clinical guidelines applications for a range of hospitals that has won a DAPS Global award for advancing patient safety.
Michael George, on the right, is a doctor and clinical teaching fellow. We both met at an NHS Hack Day in Cardiff in January 2016 where Michael pitched the idea of an otoscope simulator and we made a first version over the course of the weekend. You can see the video we made of our experience below.
After the hack day we kept working together and got the app into the app store and Michael started using it with his students. We then got investment and training through the Bethnal Green Ventures start-up ‘tech for good’ accelerator programme. That was when Simulation Sense was born.
